Cual still lives on Park Avenue in Montreal. Cual has spent many years working in community organizations serving immigrants, was the director of Spanish programming for Radio Centre-Ville (1975-80), and then worked doing international aid and community outreach for the YMCA. Since 1995, he has been an independent consultant in diversity management. In 2004, he was hired by a coalition called ACCESSS working on the prevention of conjugal and family violence. He still reads philosophy and other 'heavy' books, though no longer in strictly chronological order.
