For
a while, Shem lived in a house on St Urbain with Crescent and Alan and
Crescent's then 3-year old son Breeze... he drove cab at night and
worked on a series of clay sculptures by day. The sculptures were
great, but never were good enough for Shem's inner artist, so he always
melted them down and redid them. Seemingly none were ever going to be
finished. Eventually, his friends started to steal his work while he
was out in the cab-- the only way they would ever be preserved.
